❓ Q1: How long do I need to practice for the flight test?

 
To earn a drone operator certificate in Taiwan, the CAA follows a tiered testing system (you must pass each level in sequence).

 

 

 

❓ Q2: Is the drone license exam difficult?

 

Written Exam:
The pass rate is generally high—around 80–90%. With proper preparation and review of the official question bank, most students pass easily.
At AIDC, our students have a pass rate over 90% for the basic written test.

 

Flight Test:
Pass rates vary depending on the level (basic vs. advanced) and your hands-on flying skills. We strongly recommend hands-on training with mock test drills for better results.

 

 

❓ Q3: What types of drones can I use for the test?

 

For Professional Basic (I) exams, you must use a standard model drone—depending on weight class:

  • Under 2 kg

  • 2–15 kg

  • 15–25 kg
     

For Professional Basic (I2), you can use a mission-capable drone, but it must support manual mode or attitude mode switching.
