Drones Lead a New Era in Emergency Response: Taichung Fire Department Partners with AIDC for Intensive Training

90 Firefighters Undergo Advanced Drone Rescue Training

Drones are rapidly becoming a critical tool in firefighting and emergency response. With advanced thermal imaging, firefighters can quickly assess fire scenes and make real-time decisions—significantly reducing frontline risks. In mountain rescue scenarios, drones dramatically shorten search times and improve rescue efficiency.

The Taichung Fire Department dispatched 90 firefighters to undergo a professional training program at the Asia International Drone Club (AIDC). The facility features highly challenging terrains such as:

  • Survival combat zones

  • Shipping container mazes

  • Mountain valley simulations

  • Designated drone flight fields

These environments simulate real-world challenges, helping firefighters strengthen their mountain rescue skills through immersive and high-intensity drone operations
